Chapter 29 - The House Where People Are Chased (2)

Huang Ya Ruo seemed like she was not used to speaking in front of the camera: "The story started with me buying a house."

"I started working at the age of 16, and when I was 35, I used all my savings plus my parents' money to buy a house. The house was in a great location, and I was very happy at the time, thinking I had my own home."

"I was involved in the entire renovation process since the beginning. I had full control over the wallpaper in each bedroom, the pattern and color of the floor, and even the color of the lighting in the house."

Huang Ya Ruo took out her renovation plan. "The house took six months to complete. I even had it torn down and rebuilt twice because I wasn't satisfied with it."

"The decorators always told me to just make do with what I had, but I couldn't. I spent all my money on this one house; I may never be able to afford a second one in my lifetime. So, I want to do it perfectly. I don't want to leave any regrets."

"After six months of renovation, I started the soft furnishing. All the furniture was carefully selected."

"I really liked the sofa I chose. It was very comfortable."

As Zhu Ning watched, she felt like something was not right. It seemed more like a decoration guide video.

Huang Ya Ruo suddenly choked up: "But I didn't expect that something strange would happen after I had only been living there for three months."

Zhu Ning concentrated. This part should be the key point.

Huang Yaruo said: "At the beginning, it was just very small things. I noticed that every morning when i wake up, the position of the sofa would change."

Huang Yaruo took out two photos and showed them to the camera. "My sofa originally faced the TV cabinet."

In the first photo, a red fabric sofa was indeed facing the TV cabinet. It was a very conventional design, and most people would place it that way.

“But, when I woke up the next day, the couch was facing the wall.”

Huang Ya Ruo took out the second photo, and just as she said, the red sofa was facing the wall with its back to the TV cabinet.

"At first I thought someone came into my house to steal or maybe play a prank, but there was no sign of anyone entering my house. I live alone and I installed a security electronic lock, so I would definitely know if someone came in."

"I told my friends about this, and they asked me if I was hallucinating because of stress. Or that maybe I didn't sleep well and sleepwalked in the middle of the night."

"I thought that they made sense, so I stayed at a friend's house for three days before returning home. There wasn't anything unusual, so I decided to sleep there again. The next day, when I woke up—"

Huang Ya Ruo's voice trembled. "...The position of the furniture had changed again. This time, I caught it on video."

The video ended there, so she clicked on the next video.

It started shaky, then a woman's terrified gasps could be heard. All the furniture in the video had been repositioned, with the red sofa facing the wall.

Double-door wardrobes, refrigerators, televisions, dining tables... all other large furniture in the house faced the wall. They looked like rows of people standing with their backs facing the camera.

Someone replied below:

"The poster is just trying to attract attention. She moved furniture in the middle of the night and now comes here to attract traffic."

"You must be crazy about being famous."

"Is there a recording team? I've seen similar posts online before. This kind of trick is outdated, sister."

"Poster, do you want me to call a ghost hunter for you?"

"This video is unrealistic. I'm a man, but I can't even move some of my furniture. Now, you're telling me that she can move those?"

There was another video attached below.

This time, Huang Ya Ruo's mental state was even worse. Her face was sallow, her hair was messy, and the dark circles under her eyes were deeper and darker than before.

She seemed to have aged a lot.

"I've read everyone's replies. First of all, I don't have a team, and I'm not trying to attract attention. I really have a problem."

"I've tried all the ideas suggested by some kind-hearted people, like installing surveillance cameras, but they didn't capture anything. I can also attached it below, so you can analyze for yourself whether what I'm saying is true or not."

"Someone suggested I tie myself up, which I did. I handcuffed myself to the bed, and when I woke up the next day, the furniture was still facing away from me. It really wasn't me who did it. I'm not sleepwalking, and I'm not schizophrenic."

"I've called all sorts of masters, exorcists, and even ghost hunters. They all did some kind of rituals, but everything was useless. If you want to see it, there are videos below."

"I've tried everything I could–I...I can't stand it anymore! I don't even have any money, so why would I pay a team to do this? I don't want to be famous! It's just! It's just too much!"

"I tried not to sleep all night, and everything was fine, but as soon as I closed my eyes, they've all become like this."

"Please! Can someone help me!"

Zhu Ning clicked on the evidence she presented and watched.

In the video, Huang Ya Ruo installed a surveillance camera and then went to sleep. The surveillance camera recorded the whole night. The furniture did not move and remained in its original state.

When Huang Ya Ruo woke up the next day, the moment the camera captured her, there was a second of screen distortion, and then what came Huang Ya Ruo's scream.

The position of the furniture has changed again.

If the video was not faked or edited, then the question would be whether or not Huang Ya Ruo has the strength to move those furniture. But, no matter how much you look at it, it would be impossible for her to change the position of all the furniture in the house within a second.

Even if it was a witcher, it would be impossible.

The comments section was much more serious than last time, and some people finally believed her.

"Fuck, that's scary. Poster, you should just move out."

"Did she fake the surveillance? It can't be that it's really a supernatural event, right?"

"Surveillance fraud?"

"It would be hard to sell a house like this. What a shame. Poster spent her life's savings on a haunted house."

"Actually, the furniture didn't really harm the poster, so she can just continue living there like usual. Just think that the furniture was being a little weird."

"It's just mysterious. No harm done."

"I also think that the house is harmless, otherwise it would have killed the poster long ago."

"Alas, if I spent my life savings on that house, I wouldn't be willing to leave either."

A month later, Huang Ya Ruo released another video.

This time Huang Ya Ruo could no longer hold back and kept crying in front of the camera.

"I really...can't stand it anymore. I spent my life savings to build this house, and I tried to grit my teeth and live with it, but it didn't work. I started returning the furniture back to its position every day, but as soon as I closed my eyes, the furniture would just move again."

"Then I thought, it's okay, I'll just live like this. At worst, I can just change my living habits. But as I sat on the sofa facing the wall, I didn't know what to do. I lived like that for days and I felt like a monster."

Generally, when doing interior design, the owner's habits and preferences should be kept in mind when arranging the furniture. This was to ensure the comfortability of the owner in their own homes.

But if all the furniture in your home was not placed in accordance with human habits, like say, the TV facing the wall instead of facing the watcher, wouldn't it be frustrating?

Zhu Ning raised a brow.

This kind of case, wasn't it mental pollution? Making normal people do abnormal things, or making abnormal people do normal things.

Then repeat over and over again.

The only difference was that this time, it was a living person who forcibly changed the living habits she had established for over thirty years, making her feel uncomfortable to the point that she was on the verge of going insane.

The house won't kill her, yes. But staying in such a house for a long time will either make her go crazy or turn her into a monster.

Half a month later, Huang Ya Ruo posted another video.

It was visible that she has lost a lot of weight, probably because she often doesn't sleep or eat much. If Zhu Ning gives an estimate, Huang Ya Ruo should probably weight about only 70 pounds.

Huang Ya Ruo's video this time was particularly short: "I really can't stand it anymore. I'm going to move out. Wish me good luck. I'm going to give up this house. Thank you all for your comfort and support."

The comment section was filled with support and understanding.

There were a few doubts mixed in, still questioning the authenticity of the post, saying that they wanted to help Huang Ya Ruo get rid of the ghost.

Two weeks later, Huang Yaruo posted a new video saying that she had moved.

The video shows Huang Ya Ruo’s new home. It was very small, with just one bedroom and one living room, but it looks very warm.

Huang Ya Ruo said that she was currently recovering her work and rest schedule along with her diet. She felt like she could finally breathe a sigh of relief and return to her normal life. As long as she persists, she would be able to get rid of the shadow of the past.

The door to a new life was opening for her.

Many people in the comment section below were wishing her a happy new life.

But there were also harsher voices: "Finally can't pretend anymore? Let me guess, you're going to start selling goods next?"

"I also feel a little strange. Everyone should be alert. This may be a scam."

Zhu Ning frowned. This matter might not be over yet.

Sure enough, five days later, Huang Ya Ruo released a video again.

This time, Huang Ya Ruo had many scars on her body. It was not known whether they were self-inflicted or was from others. Huang Ya Ruo was so thin that her skin looked like it was plastered to her bones. She looked extremely eerie.

"I moved thinking it was over. I didn't want the house anymore. I listed it with an agent, but I couldn't sell it even at half the price. I thought, ' Whatever. I don't want the money anymore.'"

"I don't want anything, I just want to be normal."

"But I didn't expect it to catch up," Huang Ya Ruo murmered, her eyes bloodshot.

She stared at the camera intently, as if she could look directly at the audience behind it. "I didn't expect it to catch up."

"It's caught up, it's chasing me!"

How could a house chase someone?

Zhu Ning immediately clicked on the next video. In the video, Huang Ya Ruo carefully pushed open the door, and the voice-controlled lights lit up the dark corridor.

Opposite her apartment was another one with Room 101 written on it.

Zhu Ning had seen this door before. Huang Ya Ruo had specifically shown it to in the video when she introduced the decoration. It was painted in a color that many people would not choose for a door.

The forest green door has a red wooden sign hanging on it that reads: Warm little home.

Zhu Ning didn't react for a moment. Wasn't this Huang Ya Ruo's original house?

"This was my home," Huang Ya Ruo trembled. "I'm not mistaken. This was my home. I decorated it myself."

"It's caught up with me."

The video ended and the comments below were:

"This is really a bit scary."

"Did the poster offend someone? Is someone playing a trick on you?"

"Did your neighbor renovate their door to look similar to yours?"

"It's expensive to renovate. Did they have nothing better to do? Why don't you try knocking on the door?"

"Who's in there?"

"Don't listen to them, don't knock on the door! Don't knock! Run! Run!"

Huang Ya Ruo then moved to a new apartment in another neighborhood. This time, the incident was even more bizarre. Huang Ya Ruo recorded another video.

It was very shaky and Huang Ya Ruo herself does not appear in the video.

"That house has caught up again," Huang Yaruo was shaking as she spoke. "It always makes strange noises in the middle of the night. I'll show you...I'll show you..."

The video was probably shot in the middle of the night. Huang Ya Ruo opened the door and carefully stuck the camera out, and sure enough, she captured the green door directly opposite her room.

The green door was hidden deep in the corridor. The voice-controlled light was not turned on.

In the darkness, the green door was exceedingly conspicuous.

Bang!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

It sounded like someone was boxing inside, with the sound echoing throughout the corridor.

The video didn't end. Still facing the green door, Huang Ya Ruo's terrified voice could be heard.

"It seems like there's someone inside," Huang Ya Ruo lowered her voice, "Who would live in my house?"

The video kept shaking.

Suddenly, the boxing stopped. The corridor was plunged into an eerie silence.

"Mom."

A voice came from the darkness, "Mom."

Huang Ya Ruo froze.

"It's calling me?" Huang Ya Ruo asked uncertainly, "Did you hear it? It's calling me... mom?"

Mom.

Mom.

Mom.

Mother.

Late at night, deep in the dark corridor, a green door was calling for its mother.

"I don't have children, I don't have children! I'm going crazy." Huang Ya Ruo ran home in horror and the video ended.

The following comments were more heated than last time.

"Did the poster abandon a child? Is this karma?"

"If that's the case, then there's nothing to sympathize with. Trash girl."

"Is this the legendary revenge?"

Huang Ya Ruo released another video response.

"I don't want to respond anymore. I just want to say one thing: I don't have any children. I really never had any children. I'm a DINK (Dual Income, No Kids.)"

Huang Ya Ruo said these words very solemnly in front of the video: "I am not the kind of person who abandons her children."

"I don't know why it called me like that, so don't ask."

"I'm moving. I'm moving away."

Every time Huang Ya Ruo moved, she would release a notice. At first netizens would wish her well in welcoming her new life, but this happened too many times.

Huang Ya Ruo moved houses four times. Every time, everything was fine when she first moved in, but when she woke up the next day, the door opposite her house would turn into a green door with a red sign hanging on it: Warm Little Home.

Moreover, there would be very strange noises coming from the house in the middle of the night. Banging noises, screeching, and calling her mother, as if someone else was living there.

Even Zhu Ning was stunned. This matter was a bit too much and beyond her understanding.

The post was almost at the end, with only one video left to watch. Zhu Ning took a deep breath and clicked on the last video.

Huang Ya Ruo laughed at the camera, "I don't care anymore. I'm going crazy. If I'm crazy, I'm going to drag them down with me. It's either me or the other person."

Huang Ya Ruo's speech was incoherent and illogical. The camera wobbled, and with a yelp, Huang Ya Ruo pushed the door open.

This was the sixth house she had moved to. At the end of the corridor, right opposite her door, there was a green door that looked like an eye staring at her.

That was her original house.

"I'm going in. That's my home, my house! Every floor in there is mine! It's all my hard-earned money!"

"If I can't live there, why should I let someone else live there?"

"I'm going home! Going home! hahahahahahahaha."

Huang Ya Ruo became crazier as she spoke. With a snap, the camera spun and fell to the ground, only capturing one corner.

Huang Ya Ruo stepped across the camera in slippers, and the camera captured a sound.

Eeeeeee—

The green door opened and Huang Ya Ruo walked in.

Then, there was a sound of "Ya Ya–"

The green door closed, the video was disconnected, and the reading of the grave post was completed.

Zhu Ning was slow to react, she didn't even know what happened to Huang Ya Ruo in the end. Huang Ya Ruo went inside the house, so who uploaded the last video?

Ding.
